ZONE 1

The regions included between the Sixth and Fifth Cataracts allowed the development of the Meroitic Civilisation. The sites focussed on are Meroe, Musawwarat es-Sufra and Naga. the ancient harbour of Wad Ben Naga, the residence of queen Amanishaketo also deserves mention.
