SANAM (left bank of the Nile)
This site was excavated between 1910 and 1913 by the British Egyptologist Francis L. Griffith from Oxford University. Excavations revealed a temple dedicated to Amun built under Taharqo. Today, in the absence of important remains, the role of Sanam is unclear; it could have been the town of Napata during Antiquity. |
