THE FIRST CATARACT
The small islands of the First Cataract have in the south the temple of Philae and at the north, Elephantine Island with, on the left bank of the Nile, the cemetery of the egyptian governors and chiefs of expeditions of the Ancient and Middle Kingdoms. |
